Project Description: This task of this project was to create an infographic relating to the biological needs of adolescence. Adolescence is a time for growth and development, so that teenagers can be ready for adulthood. It is exhibited as a time of trial and error, interdependence, and finding one’s identity in an unsettled world. It is important to understand this phase of life, so that we have a better comprehension of why adolescents act in specific ways. For my infographic, I decided to relate it to the topic of mental health, to determine what adolescents need to do to retain a decent mental health.
Personal Reflection: My biggest challenge during this project was discovering a topic that interested me relating to adolescence. I began on the topic of sleep, and how lack of sleep impacts the brain and body, but quickly discovered that the topic was undevelopable because of its simplicity. It took me a while to determine that mental health would be the best topic. My greatest success during this project was the graphics. I had to redo it multiple times because I didn’t think that it flowed together. After finishing the infographic, I am happy with how the graphics look. If I were to do this project again I would add more creativity so that it didn’t match the typical mold of an infographic. Instead of creating simple statistics and putting them on the page, I could’ve put a picture of a person, and had the statistics be in the thought bubbles. In addition to this, I could have made it flow better, and be more developed. I would have a more specific topic, and change it to be more self-explanatory.
